SynCed Trial

SynCeD clinical trial is currently enrolling adults diagnosed with coeliac disease.

The SynCeD clinical trial is currently enrolling adults diagnosed with coeliac disease.

Following a gluten-free diet is challenging. In some people with coeliac disease, the digestive system may remain damaged and their symptoms may continue. SynCeD will help us learn whether a potential medicine can protect the digestive system from any damage caused by gluten.

The study medicine in the SynCeD trial is thought to work by ‘re-programming’ the immune system cells that drive coeliac disease so that they do not react to gluten.

Who can join the SynCeD clinical trial?

  •  Adults (aged 18 to 70 years) who have been diagnosed with coeliac disease.
  • Participants must have followed a gluten-free diet for at least 12 months prior to joining the trial.
  • Participants must not have a wheat allergy (NOTE: coeliac disease is not a wheat allergy).
